A native of Guadalajara, Mexico, Luis Pedro Castillo has called the Bay Area home for the last 18 years where he lives with his wife and daughter. With a background in Computer Engineering, he has worked behind the camera as both photographer and cinematographer for individuals, corporations, and a wide variety of non-profit organizations including Stand Up For Kids, Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano, The Health Trust, Project MORE Foundation, LGBTQ Youth Space, the Rainbow Chamber of Commerce, Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce (formally known as the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce,) and others. Moreover, his photography & filmmaking experience and his eagerness for the improvement of our communities, have provided him with opportunities to work on projects for various departments of the County of Santa Clara, California Water Service, California Public Utilities Commission, Bay Area Municipal Elections Committee, and more. His first feature-length film completed in 2017, Outsourcing Love, is a documentary film that explores the dating experience, while also exploring expert commentaries of professionals such as Hedrick Smith, Michael Moss, Arlie Hochschild, Paul Oyer, and many more. Luis P. Castillo is currently co-producing The Trajectory Project; a two components project (a short fictional film and lesson plans for high school and college students) dealing with gun control.
Passionate about equality, pay gap, small business, immigration, education and anti-gun violence, Luis Castillo is currently working on multiple projects with business and non profit organizations, that raise money to continue to fulfill their mission in these challenging times; while serving other community based organizations in our county, empowering them to disseminate information and services to more people in need.
