‘Reality Road: Navigate your Destiny’ Comes to Silicon Valley Teaches Students Life and Job Readiness

SANTA CLARA, CA - The Silicon Valley Central Chamber (SVC Chamber), in partnership with the Boy Scouts of America – Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council, and Santa Clara Unified School District will host ‘Reality Road: Navigate your Destiny’ on March 14, 2020, at Mission College.

Students often do not understand the basic skills they need to enter into their careers: How to write a resume, how to interview, how to manage a monthly budget, how to represent themselves on social media, and many other skills.

The Chamber, Boy Scouts of America – Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council, Mission College, and Santa Clara Unified School District are tackling this gap by bringing in industry professionals to teach students ages 14-20 the basics to entering their careers and adult lives.

“Through our Next Gen Innovators program, I have seen firsthand that our local students are incredibly bright and many have the technical skills to be successful, but learning these basic topics from professionals who may actually hire them within five to ten years has a significant lasting impact,'' said Nick Kaspar, President/CEO of the Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce.
