Business Experience Day 2009

The Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce & Convention-Visitors Bureau and the Santa Clara Unified School District invite you, the business and civic leaders of our community, to participate in our tenth annual Business Experience Day this fall. The program enables high school juniors and seniors to spend the day in our area's businesses, to learn the facets of your business and to gain practical knowledge from your personal experiences. We make every effort to assign students to businesses according to the young person's interest. No matter what field of work you're in, we encourage you to share your experience with these students, who are tomorrow's workforce leaders. In addition to inviting a student into your place of business, you are encouraged to attend the luncheon program with your ''employee for the day''. Each year we feature a speaker who discusses a topic that is timely and business related. Previous year's speakers have included Sidney Griffin from the San Francisco 49ers and Gerald Richards, Executive Director of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship. For any business that is unable to host a student, we encourage you to donate to the scholarship fund. To date, we have raised over $10,000 in scholarship funds for the students. The scholarships will be awarded to students during their high school awards ceremony in June of 2010.
