The Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce & Convention-Visitors Bureau, in partnership with the Santa Clara Unified School District, invite you to be a positive factor in our equation to build future business leaders. On October 21, we will be presenting the 12th Annual Business Experience Day program. Business Experience Day 2011 is an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to visit local businesses and learn how they operate.
The students spend the day in our area’s businesses, learning the various facets of business and gaining practical knowledge from the businessperson’s personal experiences. Additionally, all proceeds from the event are put into a scholarship fund that is awarded at the end of the school year to graduating seniors that participated in the program (the individual schools determine the scholarship awardees). Due to the support of our business community, this past year we were able to award two scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each to Mikias Gizaw and Hamera Gerra, both of Santa Clara High School. During the course of this program, we have been able to award more than $15,000 in scholarships.
