Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) Response to COVID-19 Employer Compliance
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal government has put a new labor law in place to help small business employers support their employees with an emergency Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). The new law includes a new paid sick leave and expanded Family Medical Leave (FMLA) that goes into effect April 1, 2020.
On behalf of the Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce, Karen Mathews Radau, will present on the specifics that small business owners need to know about this new law. She will be presenting: • the requirements of the FFCRA, • how employers will be reimbursed, • steps to take to be compliant with the FFCRA, and • best practices

Karen Mathews Radau Bio Karen Mathews Radau is the CEO and founder of Small Business HR Services LLC, an outsource HR solution for small to mid-size companies. She has an M.A. in Organizational Psychology and a B.S. in Business Management. Karen has additional training and certifications, most notably as a Certified Coach and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Master Practitioner. Additionally, she has a passion for giving back to the community and has donated her time to sit on boards of directors currently as Board President of Rubber Duck Labs, emeritus executive VP of NAWBO-SV, emeritus Director of Mission City Community Fund, emeritus Director of Human Connexus and emeritus executive VP of National Management Association-SV.
