NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with mental illness and their families through support, education and advocacy. NAMI Santa Clara County is affiliated with NAMI California and the national organization, NAMI. NAMI is a peer driven organization of families and people who live with mental illness. NAMI offers support groups, courses and presentations to the community at no charge.
Speakers:
Kathy Forward is the Executive Director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Santa Clara County. She is a family member who has several family members diagnosed with mental illness. She was fortunate to be in the first class, FAMILY to Family, the Keys to Understanding, for families dealing with mental illness in Santa Clara County in 1997.
Lesa Pascali MA MFT has amassed an interesting and impressive set of credentials during her professional career, including working for the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy
Sheriff and at the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office as a Criminal Investigator for 23 years. She’s worked in correctional facilities, patrol, school programs, with undercover units, the court system, served as a mediator for high risk inmates and families, and been a public speaker representing the Sheriff’s Office.
