TriCore Panels fabricates and installs architectural paneling systems for commercial projects across several markets in the SF Bay Area.  

We are seeking a full-time, in-house Designer/Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing conceptual and detailed project cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs for exterior materials, drafting and designing shop drawings in AutoCAD, and designing architectural panels using AutoCAD for fabrication. 

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities 

Project Assessment: 

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements specific to architectural paneling. 
  • Identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities that may impact project costs, focusing on factors relevant to architectural paneling. 
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the total scope of architectural paneling work required. 

Cost Estimation: 

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for architectural paneling projects, including materials, fabrication, labor, etc. 
  • Utilize estimating software (Bluebeam Revu) and tools tailored to architectural paneling to accurately calculate quantities, pricing, and project timelines. 

Bid Preparation: 

  • Develop comprehensive bid proposals for architectural paneling projects, providing detailed breakdowns of costs and project deliverables. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers specializing in architectural paneling to obtain competitive pricing and accurate information. 
  • Review bid documents from your team to ensure compliance with client requirements and architectural paneling specifications. 

Documentation and Reporting: 

  • Maintain accurate records of bid documents, correspondence, and project estimates related to architectural paneling. 
  • To ensure accuracy and efficiency, update estimating databases with relevant pricing information and project data specific to architectural paneling. 

Drafting/Designing: 

  • Provide detailed shop drawings that clearly indicate our scope of work on elevations, sections, and plans. 
  • Develop project-specific details for architectural panel systems to meet design and fabrication requirements. 
  • Assist project managers in the preparation and coordination of shop drawings and submittals as needed. 
  • Design panels for fabrication in AutoCAD based on field measurements provided by site managers. 
Additional Job Information 
 
 

Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (Bluebeam Revu), with a strong understanding of architectural panel systems, materials, and techniques. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Procore. 
  • 3+ years of experience in AutoCAD, with the ability to draft technical details effectively.
