Member Update: Message from Chair Board
Dear Chamber Members,
My name is John Elwood and Board Chair for the Silicon Valley Central Chamber of Commerce.
We wish to thank you for your continued support as we reengage our focus for a new President and CEO for the Chamber. The effort to date has been met with challenges and disappointments but we continue in search for the right person to fill the leadership role representing you and our Board of Directors.
The challenges we have been experiencing have affected our ability to plan our signature events like the State of our Cities and the Gala Event that was planned for May 11, 2023. We have discussed the May 11 Gala at our recent Board of Directors meeting, and it was a unanimous decision to postpone the event to later this year rather than host an event that may not meet all of our expectations.
We appreciate your patience as we continue our due diligence in finding an individual within our region that has the right experience, personality, and expertise that can effectively represent you as our most important client.
We are also open to any referrals you may have. Please send any recommendations to me at:

We have a number of Board Members that have stepped in, by taking on the daily operational role in providing services including the Certificate of Origin, Lunch and Learns, SV Connect, and supporting our SV Women in Business and Young Professionals to show our continued support for all these events and upholding our everyday responsibilities. In the background, we also have virtual administrative support to keep our website up to date with other clerical duties and obligations that we have as an organization.
We will keep you informed and updated as we progress in our effort to fill the CEO and President’s position.
