Jason Geller, partner with Fisher & Phillips’ Law Offices will discuss recent legal developments in wage and hour law related to when employees need to be paid, how exemptions are applied, compensation when the scheduled shift is not provided and related issues. He will also discuss employment arbitration, class action trends and developments under the Private Attorney’s General Act (PAGA).Attendees will learn about recent legal developments in wage and hour law, trends in related litigation and strategies to reduce risks of lawsuits.

Jason Geller, partner with Fisher & Phillips’ Law Offices
Jason represents employers in all facets of employment law matters. He has considerable experience defending employers in litigation involving claims under the Family and Medical Leave Act and California Family Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act and California wage and hour laws. Jason has also defended employers against whistle blowing and retaliation claims, including claims under the California Whistle-blower Act, the False Claims Act and various provisions of the California Labor Code. He is also the chairperson for the Alameda County EAC Legislative.
Jason has extensive experience defending employers in federal and state court, as well as in investigations by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment, and Housing, United States Department of Labor and the National Labor Relations Board.
His clients are involved in a variety of industries, including the construction, manufacturing, engineering, architecture, professional services, and agriculture, technology, retail, and hospitality industries.
