John Elwood Assumes Duties Early as 2022-2023 Board Chair of Silicon Valley Central Chamber Board of Directors
John Elwood, who was voted unanimously to serve a one-year term from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023, assumed his duties early this weekend as the new Board Chair as Silicon Valley Central Chamber (SVC Chamber).
Elwood of Kylii Inc. rejoined the SVC Chamber Board of Directors in 2021 after a few years off the Board from his previous service. Due to the confidence his fellow Directors held in his leadership style, he was elected to the Vice Chair position after only a few months of returning to SVC Chamber Board service, a position which he has filled for the last year.
Elwood replaces Christian Pellecchia of Slatter Construction, who resigned from the Board Chair position early on June 18, 2022, with a heart-felt resignation speech to SVC Chamber Leaders gathered in Soquel, CA for an annual retreat. Pellecchia began his campaign for Santa Clara City Councilmember which precludes him from continuing the Board as per SVC Chamber Bylaws.

Elwood, who is best known for his management of the world-renowned Apple Inc campus headquarters construction is excited about the SVC Chamber’s future, “I have the distinct pleasure of working with a fantastic Board of Directors who are dedicated to the economic development of Silicon Valley.”
“There is so much to tackle as we continue through this pandemic. At the SVC Chamber, we are especially focused on helping businesses get back on their feet and prosper. We also focused on workforce development. Through our affiliated-charity, Silicon Valley Works, our initiative is to grow internships, provide scholarships, and help with job placement.”
At the ceremonial Silicon Valley Business Awards and Installation Gala, held on May 5, 2022, Pellecchia handed off the gavel to incoming Board Chair Elwood who introduced the new Directors to the business community and shared his vision for the future of the SVC Chamber and the Valley.
