Silicon Valley Mayors Convene to Prepare for Super Bowl LX, FIFA World Cup 2026, and the AI-Driven Future

Silicon Valley, CA — December 11, 2025 —
As Silicon Valley prepares to host the world in 2026, civic and business leaders gathered on December 11 for the Silicon Valley Mayors’ Breakfast 2025, themed “Games and Beyond.” Hosted by the Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce & Innovation in partnership with the Santa Clara Business Council, the event brought together five Silicon Valley mayors, regional partners, technology leaders, and community stakeholders. Attendees were welcomed with a full, extensive buffet and an exceptional presentation by the host venue, Santa Clara Marriott.

In 2026, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara will become the first stadium in the world to host both the Super Bowl and the FIFA World Cup in the same year, placing Silicon Valley at the center of global attention. At the same time, Santa Clara County remains the global epicenter of artificial intelligence, innovation, and advanced technology—creating a unique moment of opportunity, disruption to the workforces, and responsibility.

Opening and closing the program, Harbir K. Bhatia, CEO & President of the Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce & Innovation, emphasized the importance of regional collaboration and AI readiness.
“When regions move together, they rise together. Silicon Valley must prepare not only to host the Games, but to lead through collaboration and united innovation, AI adoption, and workforce transformation.”

Mayors from Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Milpitas, and Cupertino shared how their cities are preparing for the Games and the accelerating impact of AI—from smart infrastructure and transportation to workforce development, placemaking, and small business support.

Additional mayors were in attendance along with CEOs and senior leaders from neighboring Chambers of Commerce, including Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and Cupertino—further demonstrating strong regional engagement and a shared commitment to cross-city collaboration and economic alignment.

The mayors’ panel, moderated by Tom Zahiralis of the Silicon Valley Business Journal, explored readiness across transportation, public safety, housing, and economic development, while also addressing how AI is reshaping city operations, jobs, and local businesses.

Zaileen Janmohamed, CEO of the Bay Area Host Committee, spoke about the 60 days to Superbowl 60. She framed the scale of the upcoming events and reminded attendees that success depends on coordinated preparation across cities, industries, and communities. Adding a community perspective, Chris Dangerfield, San Jose Earthquakes Hall of Famer, spoke about the role of sports in uniting communities, creating lasting cultural connections with visiting countries, and empowering small businesses.
Through initiatives such as Explore Silicon Valley, the Guide to the Games Magazine, Games-focused events, shared regional calendars, interactive maps, and upcoming AI-focused business programs, the Chamber is helping ensure the benefits of the 2026 Games extend beyond the stadiums.
Silicon Valley is ready to host the world—and committed to leading it forward through innovation and collaboration.
