Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce & Innovation Celebrates “Legends & SV Champions” Annual Awards
Sold-out celebration honored regional business, nonprofit, civic, and sports leaders while spotlighting Silicon Valley’s role in the global celebration of soccer and innovation
SAN JOSE, Calif. — The Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce & Innovation hosted its “Legends & SV Champions” Annual Awards & Celebration on Monday, June 29, 2026, at The Domes, a newly opened 360-degree immersive entertainment venue located at 171 Post Street in Downtown San Jose.
The sold-out event brought together business leaders, civic officials, community partners, awardees, and Bay Area sports figures for an evening celebrating Silicon Valley’s leadership in commerce, innovation, sports, culture, and community impact. The awards event was designed to highlight the region’s global connections as Silicon Valley joins the broader regional celebration surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Originally planned for the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara, the event was moved to The Domes after demand outgrew the original venue. The Chamber selected the new location to reflect the evening’s sports-centered theme and to become the first group to host an event at the newly opened immersive venue.
“We are so pleased to be able to be the first group to host an event at The Domes,” said Harbir K. Bhatia, CEO and President of the Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce & Innovation. “The theme of sports was central to this year’s awards event, and we were excited to be able to celebrate our awardees in the heart of the world’s most unifying sports event, the FIFA World Cup.”
The evening featured a red-carpet welcome, global cuisine and cultural experiences, awards programming, a Legends Corner, auction items, prizes, and opportunities for guests to connect with leaders from across Silicon Valley’s business, nonprofit, civic, and sports communities.
Awardees and honorees included Dr. Alan Sue, Executive Medical Director of Sutter Health, who was recognized as Leader of the Year; Geeta Kadambi of Rotary District 5170, who received the Non-Profit Award; Chris Dangerfield, San Jose Earthquakes Hall of Famer and NBC Sports host, who was honored with the Legacy & Impact Award; and Miles Barber, founder of Silicon Valley Voice, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The event also included the announcement of the Santa Clara Business of the Year and the Silicon Valley Business of the Year.
Featured sports and community guests included Aubrie Tolliver, sports media host for the San Francisco 49ers, who served as emcee; Shea Salinas, San Jose Earthquakes Club Ambassador; Chris Dangerfield, San Jose Earthquakes Hall of Famer and NBC Sports host; Jan Eric Nordmo, U.S. Soccer coach trainer and California soccer entrepreneur; and Miles Barber, founder of Silicon Valley Voice. Additional invited guests included city council members and mayors from across Silicon Valley, Santa Clara County Supervisor Otto Lee, California Assemblymember Patrick Ahrens, and representatives from the offices of U.S. Congressmembers.
The event was presented by the Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce & Innovation in partnership with the Rotary Club of Santa Clara, Rotary District 5170, and Sister Cities International. Sponsors and partners included METHOD 42 Productions, NorCal SCI, Jalsa Catering, NorthStar Strategic Partners, The UPS Store – Almaden Expressway, the Rotary Club of Santa Clara, and Sister Cities International.
